About South Coast SLT
Expert, independent speech and language therapy.
Founded in Hampshire, working across the south coast and online UK-wide.
Our mission
Every child deserves to communicate, and to be heard.
Our mission is to help children communicate with confidence. We do this through expert speech and language therapy, tailored to each child, for families, schools and nurseries across South Hampshire and online.
We believe good therapy is shaped around the individual child, delivered by experienced therapists, and carried out in genuine partnership with parents, carers and educators, all grounded in current evidence. Whether a family contacts us directly or is referred by their child’s school, our focus is the same: helping each child to understand, to be understood, and to take part in the world around them.
Our approach
Three principles that guide everything we do.
Expert.
Every therapist at South Coast SLT is a fully qualified speech and language therapist, registered with the HCPC, with extensive clinical experience. We hold ourselves to a high standard and provide highly effective therapy and support.
Evidence-based.
We use approaches backed by current research, combined with our clinical experience and expertise, and what we learn from each child and family. Together, these guide every decision we make.
Family-centred.
Therapy works best when the people around a child are part of it. We work alongside parents, carers and school staff, so they can support the child’s communication every day. That way, therapy does not stop when our session ends.
Who we work with
Families, schools, and fellow therapists.
Families.
Parents and carers of children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs. We offer assessment and therapy across South Hampshire, with online sessions also available.
Schools and nurseries.

Meet the founder
Daniel Gibbons
Senior Therapist and Clinical Director
BSc (Reading), MSc Clinical and Health Research (Southampton). HCPC Registered, RCSLT Member, ASLTIP Member, Enhanced DBS Checked.
Daniel qualified as a speech and language therapist at the University of Reading and went on to complete a Master’s in Clinical and Health Research at the University of Southampton. He has spent the past decade in independent practice, during which he founded South Coast SLT. Earlier in his career he held clinical and management roles within the NHS.
He specialises in language delays and disorders, speech sound difficulties (including Childhood Apraxia of Speech, or CAS), stammering in young children (including delivery of the Lidcombe Programme), social communication, and supporting autistic children and their families. He also provides clinical and professional supervision and mentoring to fellow therapists, underpinned by specialist advanced supervision training.
South Coast SLT is growing, and every therapist who joins the team will share the same commitment to evidence-based, child-centred, family-focused practice.
Where we work
Our clinic in Hampshire.
Our clinic room is based in Whiteley, Hampshire, with easy access for families across Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, and the surrounding areas. The room is private, quiet and welcoming to children, with a comfortable waiting area for parents and free on-site parking.
The full clinic address is shared when your appointment is confirmed.
Home, nursery and school visits.
We also visit children at home and at their nursery or school across South Hampshire. Seeing a child where they spend their day shows us how they communicate in everyday life, and means we can work directly with the parents, carers and staff who support them. Online sessions are available too, depending on what works best for each family.

Let’s start the conversation.
Whether you are a parent, a school, or a fellow therapist, we would be glad to hear from you.
